What is Kalupada Seka ? Kalupada Seka (heat therapy) is a treatment which is used to heal fractured bones, Spondilytis, Joint pain, Back pain and Sciatica pain. How does fractured bones get healed by using Kalupada seka ? To treat fractured bones, first the x-ray of the fractured part is examined. Then, on a bandage the herbal mixture made of different medicinal herbs which has the ability to cure the pain and stiffness, is bound around the affected body part for 2-4 weeks. Some small pieces of bamboo stick may be used to support the fractured bone. This duration of the bandage is set after examining the condition of the affected broken bone. After this the fractured bone gets healed upto some extent. This bandage is changed in every four days with new herbal mixture. This herbal mixture along with the oil penetrates into the skin easily and helps in calcium formation at the affected part thus giving a faster recovery. After this period, the next part of the healing process starts by using Kalupada seka(heat therapy) which is applied on the fractured part. This is done by the following process: First of all, herbal oil is applied above the skin of the fractured or the swollen part. Then on a bandage some herbal oils and potion is kept on the affected area and heat is applied by the help of a hot iron rod. The patient only feels the heat as he/she can bear.
